As we said, there are only a few players who have managed to win a World Cup. As per records, only 445 players have managed to get World cup medals. So which player has won the World cup for the highest number of times?
Well, in the history of the FIFA World Cup, Brazil has been the most successful team with five championships to its name. Three of these wins came in the four world cups played between 1958 and 1970. Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pele, was part of all three world cups. Pele is the only player to have won the FIFA World Cup three times. Pele is also recognized as “the greatest” by FIFA and was also awarded FIFA Player of the century.
Pele is followed by his senior teammates who were part of the 1958 and 1962 Brazil squads. Bellini, Castilho, Didi, Djamala Santos, Garrincha and Gilmar are other Brazilian players who have won the World Cup twice (1958 and 1962). Cafu, another Brazilian player won the world cup in 1994 and 2002.
In the top 10, there are eight Brazil players while the remaining two are Italians. Giovanni Ferrari and Guido Masetti won the FIFA World Cup in 1934 and 1938. There are more than 11 players who have managed to win the World Cup twice.
