Qatar Airways Partners with Other Airlines – Millions of football fans are expected to enter Qatar in a span of months during the FIFA World Cup 2022. Various provisions are being made to accommodate these fans into the country. Similarly, Qatar airways which is the official sponsor for the world cup has partnered with the neighbouring airlines to carry smooth transfer of travellers for FIFA World Cup matches.
Qatar Airways has partnered with flydubai, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air and Saudia. These airlines will offer match day shuttle flights during FIFA World Cup 2022. With the help of these services, one can easily make a day trip to Doha from neighbouring countries to watch their team play.
The fans residing in neighbouring countries to Qatar can arrive on the morning of the match day, enjoy the match and depart after the match using these match day shuttle services. No hotel booking is required and this can be one of the most cost effective way for people in UAE to attend a match.
These match day shuttle services will operate from Dubai, Jeddah, Muscat, Riyadh, Kuwait. These flights will operate to and fro Doha’s Hamad International Airport. Hamad International Airport was awarded as Best Airport in the World in 2021 by Skytrax.

The Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group, Mr Akbar Al Baker, expressed his views on this partnership.
Mr Akbar Al Baker said,
“Connecting fans and a shared love for football are at the heart of this game-changing partnership. The landscape of this tournament gives us the opportunity to spread the business with various regional airlines. Our combined bandwidth with flydubai, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air and Saudia will create travel flexibility that will bridge cultures and give fans the chance to explore multiple places in the Middle East.”
These match day shuttle flights will be cabin baggage only. This will make the process fast and easy for passengers as well as the airlines. The fans will benefit from the smooth travel services from airport to stadiums. It is expected that fans travelling for a day trip will also have time for some sightseeing in the city.
Match Day Shuttle Schedule (21st November to 18th December 2022)
So after learning the new information about match day shuttle service, everyone is excited to know the schedule. But as of now, the schedules are not released. However, Qatar Airways has announced the proposed schedule which if approved by the government will be implemented officially.
- FlyDubai – 30 daily return flights to/from Dubai
- Oman Air – 24 daily return flights to/from Muscat
- Kuwait Airways – 10 daily flights to/from Kuwait
- Saudia – 20 daily flights to/from Riyadh and Jeddah
According to Qatar Airways, the schedule and bookings for these services will be available soon.
The partnership between Qatar Airways and four airlines was announced on 29th May 2022. The announcement was made official with representatives of all five airlines attending the press conference.
